thinking about armor

thinking about what we present to the world, and how sometimes we hide our fragile selves behind the image we show.
Then I saw this on our lovely friend Allison's facebook what would Allison want me to wear? (check her blog out too!)
What an amazing ethereal woman Daphne Guinness is, I'm amazed.
And I love armor

What is style?
We struggle to put into words what our style is.

That's the hard part, it isn't words.
It's a feeling, a look, an attitude.
To project to the world who you are.
To give off the confidence that you find inside yourself.
To show that you are your own woman, comfortable in your skin.

We try to bring you style that you can take and turn into your own.

So, rather than words here are some images of women with that sense of style, that sense of self.

Be yourself!  Be beautiful.

bike it!

I just HAD to share this story I ran across at  A Cup Of Jo today!

A Dutch tourist (adorably pictured below) was riding her bike in NYC this May, and was pulled over by a police officer because her skirt was too short!

What a jerk!  I'm pretty sure that one isn't on the books.

In protest a bunch of lovely ladies organized a 'short skirt ride' this past Thursday, and took back the streets.

I wonder what that jerk cop would think of Portland?  Naked bike ride anyone?
